Tamela is a gifted counselor and Assistant to the Executive Director at New Name Ministries. She has a passion for leading women in finding the freedom that has transformed her own life.
In 2002, Tamela began to sense a call to become a counselor. Little did she know that the road to answering that call would be a rocky one. Trying her best to control and fix her son’s addiction led Tamela to brokenness where she reached out for help.
Through Discipleship Counseling, Tamela experienced healing from her past, discovered her true identity, and found the courage to trust God with her son and let him go. Tamela also learned how to have healthy relationships with her entire family, especially her son as he began his journey to recovery.
In 2008, Tamela answered the call from God given in 2002 and began training at New Name Ministries, joining the staff in 2009. Tamela brings a wealth of wisdom and experience into every sacred counseling session and plays a huge role in making New Name Ministries the success that it is.
